Why we need to use the corner wedges key for assembled wooden frame?

The ready finished stretched canvas is easy to loose because of the temperature changes and the moisture degree ,  wood frame will also be influnced by the temperature and the moisture degree in different  atmosphere . The force of gravity is pulling constantly. The combination of these forces will cause the fabric to fatigue. This occurs primarily along the edge of the canvas where the canvas and the stretcher make contact.

Wooden wedges can solve this problem , which can help you re-stretching the canvas , this is the best option to solve the canvas loose problem .

Wooden wedges can help  expand the stretcher bar, once bars been expanded , the frame will be larger , therefore the canvas fabric will be tighted . A corner wedges keyed stretcher allows for independent expansion in either direction in each corner.
you can shrink the fabric by using moisture (water) which makes the stretched canvas much tighter,. If  this method is used every time ,  elasticity of the fabric will be reduced .

We recommend use of our CROSS BRACES (middle bars) for strips over 30", to maintain frame strength. Corner braces are recommended for added stability when stretching sizes 36x48 and larger.
